Firstly, there are six reading comprehension activities, or informational texts, about:

  • An Overview of the Inca Empire
  • Religion in the Inca Empire
  • Advancements of the Inca Empire
  • Machu Picchu
  • Atahualpa: the Last Inca Emperor
  • Francisco Pizarro

Then, there is our Inca Empire Map Activities and Presentation. This hands-on resource brings history and geography to life. Students will explore the lands of the Inca, uncover the secrets of cities like Cusco and Machu Picchu, and trace the empire at its peak.

Then, there are two biography writing units about Atahualpa and Francisco Pizarro. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Then, there is an informational writing unit about the Inca Empire. The unit has again been split into three or four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Also, there is an opinion writing unit about which emperor was the most influential: Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui, Topa Inca Yupanqui or Atahualpa. This unit has again been split into three or four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

After, there is an Inca Empire Timeline Activity and Display. It is perfect for introducing students to the some of the key events and people of Inca period. There are 33 posters or task cards that include many of the key events from the period.

Finally, two fun and engaging escape room activities about both the Inca Empire and Machu Picchu help enhance your students knowledge even further.
