Firstly, there are eight reading comprehension activities, or informational texts, about:

  • Charlemagne
  • William the Conqueror
  • King Richard I
  • Robin Hood
  • Genghis Khan
  • Joan of Arc
  • The Renaissance
  • The War of the Roses

Then, there are three biography writing units about Charlemagne, Joan of Arc and William the Conqueror. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Also, there is an opinion writing unit about who was the most influential figure from the Middle Ages: Charlemagne, Joan of Arc or William the Conqueror. This unit has again been split into three or four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

After, there is a Middle Ages Timeline Activity and Display. It is perfect for introducing students to the some of the key events and people of the period. There are 36 posters or task cards that include many of the key events from the end of the Western Roman Empire until the first voyages to the Americas.

Finally, two fun and engaging escape room activities about both the Renaissaince period and the War of the Roses help enhance your students knowledge even further.
